JOSEPH C. VICTOR, B.A., L.L.B., Q.C. (1917 - 2005)

    Joe was a native of Oshawa and attended Ritson Road Public School and Oshawa Collegiate and Vocational Institute (now O'Neill). For the next 20 years, Joe was involved in the retail trade as proprietor of Victor's Sports & Cycle. In 1935, he formed the Victor Cycling Club and in the following years this organization brought many honours to the City and became known as one of the leaders in the development of racing cyclists.

    During World War II, he was a member of the Armed Forces, holding the rank of non-commissioned officer, as an instructor with the Canadian Armoured Corps.

    In 1955, at the age of 38, Joe decided to return to school. He attended the University of Toronto (University College), obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in 1958 and Osgoode Hall in 1961, earning his Bachelor of Laws . He articled with Creighton, Fraser, Drynan & Murdoch and was called to the Bar in 1963. Joe became a partner of the firm in 1965 and was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1975.

     Throughout his life, Joe has been involved in many community affairs, such as; City Alderman (1951-1955), member of the Executive of the Kinsmen Club of Oshawa, President and Life Member of Oshawa Minor Hockey Association, President and Life Member of Oshawa Minor Softball Association, Honourary Vice-President of the General W. Sikorski Polish Veterans Association, Vice-President and Life Member of the Canadian Wheelmen's Association, (now Canadian Cycling Association), and a member of Regional, Provincial and Federal Bar Associations.

ROBERT ARTHUR ALEXANDER, B.A., L.L.B.

     Bob attended elementary school in Port Hope and high school in Etobicoke at Richview Collegiate Institute. He graduated from McMaster University in 1967 with a degree in Economics and Business. Bob obtained his Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1970, and was called to the Bar with honours in 1972 after articling in Toronto with the firm of Campbell, Rogers.

     During his years of formal education, Bob was active in youth groups, basketball, football, baseball, karate, skydiving, camping, skiing and Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.

     Upon being called to the Bar, Bob decided to come to Oshawa and joined the firm of Creighton, Drynan, Murdoch & Victor in 1972. He became a partner in 1975.

    Since arriving in Oshawa, he has been involved in numerous community organizations such as being a Big Brother, Director and President of the Oshawa-Whitby Big Brothers Association, Director and President of the Oshawa/Clarington Chamber of Commerce, charter Director of Arts Centre Action, charter Director of Durham House Child and Family Centre, Director and President of the Durham Region Law Association, Director and President of the United Way of Oshawa-Whitby-Newcastle, Director and President of the Rotary Club of Oshawa, Chairperson of numerous Rotary Club Committees, Director and President of the Rotary Club of Oshawa Charitable Fund, charter Director of the Community Foundation of Durham Region, charter Director and President of the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre, Elder of Kingsview United Church and member of Regional, Provincial and Canadian Bar Associations.

     In 1990, Bob was selected by the Oshawa and District Chamber of Commerce as "Business Person of the Year" and in 1997, Bob was awarded the Law Society of Upper Canada's Bicentennial Award of Merit.

     As well as being counsel to a number of community organizations, Bob has also served on the Oshawa and District Advisory Council for Economic Development, the United Way Needs Assessment Task Force, the Oshawa General Hospital Fundraising Committee, St. George's Church Scholarship Awards Committee, Chair of Community Organizations division of the Parkwood Estate Now and Forever Campaign and has sat as a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court. He is also an Honourary Director of Big Brothers of Oshawa-Whitby, and has hosted numerous exchange students from around the world.

    Bob has three wonderful children and lives in Oshawa with his wife Nancy.

RONALD JOSEPH HAYWARD, B.A., L.L.B.

     A native of Oshawa, Ron attended Ritson Road Public School, Dr. S.J. Phillips, Duke of Edinburgh, and T.R. McEwen Public Schools. Having obtained first class honours at Courtice High School for grades 9 and 10, he attended Donevan Collegiate High School in Oshawa for grades 11 through 13 with similar academic success. While there, Ron participated in weightlifting, track and field, and hockey. After graduating from D.C.I. in 1967, he attended Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, obtaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree (Economics, Mathematics and History) in 1970. Continuing at Queen's, Ron obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1973 while being actively involved in hockey and the Queen's Legal Assistance Plan.

     Ron articled with the firm in 1973 and then, having been called to the Bar (with Honours), joined the firm in 1975, becoming a partner in 1977.

     Ron is a former Director and Vice-President of the Durham AM Kiwanis Club, a present and former Director of the Durham Region Law Association, and a devoted Corvette enthusiast. He is a member of the Pineridge Corvette Club. Ron is also a part-time Assistant Crown Attorney and a former Acting Small Claims Court Judge. He is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Durham Region Law Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Criminal Lawyers Association. Ron has been active speaking to community and social groups as well as being involved in local baseball and hockey. He is a representative on the Bench and Bar User's Committee of the Ontario Court (Provincial Division), the Courts Management Advisory Committee and Criminal Lawyers Committees.

GEORGE CHARLES STIRLING MORISON, B.A., L.L.B.

     For over 100 years, Charlie's ancestors have been living and working in Oshawa. He attended elementary and high school in Oshawa, graduating from Eastdale C.V.I. with First Class Honours in 1972. Charlie obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Western Ontario in 1975 and was named to the Dean's Honour Roll. He then obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor in 1978 and was awarded a Special Achievement Award. After articling with the firm, he was called to the Bar in 1980, and became a Partner in the firm in 1982.

    Charlie has been a Director of the Durham Region Law Association (1985-1996) and served as its President (1991-1994). He has been a Deputy Judge of the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court since 1982. Charlie was a part-time Assistant Crown Attorney (1983-1990) and has been a member of the Children's Lawyer Panel since 2000.

     During Charlie's academic years, he received a number of awards, including being elected President of the Students' Council at Eastdale, three All Ontario Secondary School Ski Jumping titles, an Athletic Letter from the University of Western Ontario(skiing), and a Tennis Championship and Most Valuable Curler award at the University of Windsor.

     Charlie has been, and is actively involved in a number of community organizations. He has been a Director of the Oshawa Ski Club (1979-1991), served as its President (1987-1989)and has been awarded a lifetime membership. He was a founding member of the Oshawa Ski Racing Club in 1983, and its first President (1983-1986). Charlie was a founding member of the Big Sisters Advisory Council in 1984, has been a Director of Big Sisters Newcastle-Oshawa-Whitby (1986-1992), and served as its President (1987-1988). He was awarded an Honourary Lifetime Membership in Big Sisters. Charlie was a member of the United Way Campaign Cabinet (1989-1999), and served as Campaign Chairman (1997-1999). He has been a Director of Oshawa/Whitby/Clarington United Way (1999-2003). Charlie has been a Director of the Oshawa Golf Club (1993-2001), and served as its President (1996-2000). He also served on the 1991 Oshawa General Hospital Fundraising Committee. In 2006, Charlie became a Director of the Oshawa Hospital Foundation, and in 2008, he became an Officer of the Foundation. In 2006, Charlie became a Director of the Ontario Philharmonic, and in 2009, he became Chairman of the Ontario Philharmonic. Charlie has been a volunteer fund raiser for the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre since its inception in 1997. Charlie has served on numerous other local special event and fundraising committees.

     Charlie is married to the former Anne Maroosis and lives in Courtice, Ontario. He enjoys many different recreational sports.

BRIAN J. R. HALL, B.A. (BIL.), L.L.B.

     Brian was born in Toronto and grew up in Don Mills, Ontario. After a childhood that included participation in various sports including baseball and tennis, Brian attended the George S. Henry Academy in North York from 1983 to 1987. At GSHA, Brian was an Ontario Scholar. He was Captain of the Reach for the Top team, participated in the Debating Society, and he was Defensive Captain of the Water Polo team.

    From 1987 to 1990, Brian attended the College Universitaire Glendon where he obtained a bilingual stream Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. While at Glendon, he continued in various extra-curricular pursuits including acting as a French Language debating judge. In 1988, Brian won the prestigious Canadian Electoral Award in Canadian Politics and graduated with First Class Honours from College Universitaire Glendon. Brian is fluent in French and English.

    From 1990 to 1993, Brian attended Osgoode Hall Law School where he primarily studied litigation courses including; Family Law, Advanced Torts, Advanced Criminal Law and Administrative Law. Brian graduated among the top of his class. He excelled in Family Law and was among the top students in his final year.

     In 1993 and 1994, Brian articled with the prestigious law firm of Gowling, Lafleur, Henderson LLP (formerly known as Gowling, Strathy and Henderson).

    In 1995, Brian began working for the firm then know as Creighton, Victor, Alexander, Hayward & Morison, first as an associate, and then in 1998, as a partner in the firm.
